Owls of Comfort- Qld Flood Appeal Auctions

Quiltitis members all live in Queensland, and the events of the last 3 weeks will be remembered for years to come. Thankfully none of us were seriously affected by the floods. I was stranded in a regional town in SE queensland on 2 occasions but this was only inconvienient. I was wonderfully looked after by Shelle and her family. The pictures of devastation in towns across the state are heartbreaking, hopefully this auction will help raise some funds for the disaster appeal and give comfort to others at the same time.

I will be adding a quilt to the auction, my "Owls of Comfort" which I quilted last year and finally finished over christmas.

It is a bright and cuddly quilt that would make a small throw for a single bed, a play mat for the floor or simply used to snuggle under on a cool night on the sofa.

It is 47" (120cm) square. It is flannel cotton, with a dark grey tone on tone flannel cotton backing. The wadding is 100% cotton. It is fully machine washable. It has been very simply quilted by stitching in the ditch.
It has been sewn in a 100% smoke free home and the fabrics have not been pre-washed.

How this auction works: (Thanks to Toni Tonifor these details)
1.  Bidding will start at $50 (Australian).
2.  You can place a bid by leaving a comment on this blog post with your bid amount and email address.  Please make sure that your bid is higher than the previous bidder.
3.  Your bid must be in whole dollar increments.
4.  This auction is open to everyone, however $20 will be charged for International addresses.  Postage is FREE for Australian residents.
5.  The auction begins NOW and will END at midnight on Monday 24th January 2011. (my Australian time)
6.  At the close of the auction, I will contact the winner (please make sure your bid comment includes your email address).  The winner will pay the winning amount directly into the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal and send me proof of payment via email.  Once proof of payment has been received, I will post your quilt.
7.  Thank you for participating and happy bidding!
