Well I know that I have been very quiet for the last few weeks. Holiday and domestic kitchen things going on. However, I have not forgotten the sewing machine and will have new photos of my xmas projects to post in a couple of weeks time. Until then they are a surprise. But I have got projects from links on Crafty Mummy's blog and the Moda Bakeshop.http://www.modabakeshop.com/. Looking forward to show and tell.

QUILT SHOW FUN

I managed to escape the family & attend the craft & quilt show at the Brisbane Convention Centre for a couple of hours last Saturday. The display of quilts by the Qld Quilter's guild was really impressive - I think it was the biggest number of quilts they've ever had. Very inspiring of course. I just wish I had a photographic memory for all of the amazing things I saw.

One of this year's challenges was hexagons... There were quilts with hexagons as large as dinner plates, quilted-as-you-go, down to tiny hexagons no bigger than a 5 or 10 cent piece. When you think that these are hand-pieced it makes it all the more impressive. To see some of these amazing quilts visit the Queensland Quilters website http://www.qldquilters.com/ though the photos don't do the quilts justice.

Then there was the market hall! I went to see the curve master presser foot demonstrated by it's inventor, Sandra Chandler-Lawhon, & was so impressed I bought it on the spot. I had a play with it last night & I think you will start to see curved seams in my quilts soon. I've always avoided them before but this little foot is amazing.

I also attended a free workshop, the name of which escapes me just now, on a technique I'll share with you at a later date.

Now I just have to finish a couple of UFO's so I can start on my new ideas...
